WhetherPixie, Again
Well, maybe it IS warmer and sunnier in Seattle. But they've got 30mph winds down there. We're only at 10mph. So NYAH NYAH NYAH!

Hmmmm
Ok, the end of that last blog was supposed to say:
"I thought State braces for storm"
But somehow not only did the link not work, but I also can't edit that entry anymore. Computers are cool!
Anyhoo.

Whether Pixie
How can it be pouring down rain here (Weatherpixie has an orange umbrella that clashes with her pink top) and sunny in Seattle? It's 39 degrees F here, how can Lindaloo's Weatherpixie say 52? I thought

A Merry Kriz-mas
Whew! I made it! I'm happy to report that I had a nice holiday with mom and grandma, and we're all still alive and friends, now that they've gone home!
I was much better behaved this visit, I think being able to go home each night or go over to Andy's helped me stay sane. I DID have to spend every waking hour with my mom and grandma, and some hours that would not have been "waking" if I'd had my way. My mom said "ok, well call us in the morning when you get up. But if I don't hear from you by 9:30 I'll call you." (!!!!) OK, you can call me if you want, but I won't be awake....
So let's just say I'm looking forward to sleeping in a little this weekend!
We had kind of a bummer Christmas, since it started off with a trip to the emergency room - grandma was having bad nerve pains in the side of her head. Neuralgia, nothing serious like stroke or anything, but still very painful. So after the ER, we went back to mom and grandma's hotel. We had planned on going to Andy's folks for Christmas dinner, but after the ER grandma didn't want to go out anymore, so we stayed in the hotel room. It wasn't as grim as I thought it might be. Andy brought Christmas dinner to us (his mom loaded UP a pan of roast and potatoes and casserole and cheesecake - YUM!) Andy-claus.
I was telling Andy that it is hard for me not to argue with my mom when I'm around her. (not fight, mind you, just debate) He said he could understand that. I said "probably just some mother-daughter thing" and he said no, actually, he thought that he'd find himself arguing with her if he was around her a lot too. She's just very opinionated and smart and brings that kind of stuff up a lot. That made me feel better, like it wasn't just me being a brat when I'm around her. That it might actually have something to do with her.
So: the Loot List:
cash with which to buy myself a new bicycle
a framed photograph of a mask shop in Venice
Body shop foot lotion
a necklace
gift certificates from Amazon.com
a salmon reel for my salmon/saltwater fishing pole
a new favorite sweatshirt, since mine has holes in the elbows
tickets for 2 to Theatresports at Granville Island
beads
an ox statue (I was born in the year of the ox, so it's supposed to be a good luck charm)
Ginger Lime lotion
an oragami "Fold-a-Day" daily calendar
a fish-shaped coat hook thing
soap
a rubiks-cube calendar
raccoon slipper-socks
candy
a fishing tackle box full of fish-shaped candy
I think that's it! Quite a haul! I can't wait to go bike shopping.
Hope you all had a great holiday!
