Things I Learned on the Toilet

Lint got the answer eventually:

SALT is the only rock humans can digest. (not a plate of quartz....) Ohhhhhh!

Today's question:

What is the first thing most people do after entering the grocery store?

Lovely, Part 2

Yesterday I took my bike out for a spin around Lake Padden in the sunshine after work. It was so nice and beautiful out. It made me happy to see so many other people out enjoying the day and each other, too. Lots of families with their dogs and their fishing poles hoping to catch their supper, but if not they brought burgers for the barbecue. I did a little exploring on some of the mountain bike trails off into the hills. That was fun too - and muddy. But really, I'm a big chicken. I like to cruise on the wider smooth paths. I like to be able and look up and enjoy the view, not focus on not crashing.

So this weekend I'll go out for another ride, but I'll find a different trail. Either the trail along Whatcom Creek (the city has really done a lot of work to rejuvenate that area since the infamous pipeline explosion - in fact the company I work for did the trail improvements) or along Padden creek from Fairhaven Park to the bay, or else out on the trail that goes along Lake Whatcom. Hmmm, if I do the Lake Whatcom trail I might just throw my fishing pole in the backpack for good measure...

Yep, so Andy's in Alaska. (and yesterday he turned 30! He's an old man!) So I'm adventuring on my own for now. I've tried to rope my friend into coming out for a ride this weekend. Hopefully she'll join me!

I love this time of year - I hope the wonderful perfect weather continues. Days like yesterday i just feel like such a lucky person.

Lovely

It's been simply lovely here for the past several days. It's been sunny and warm and beautiful and flowery and spring and green and blue and I love it.

Mr Andy-Man and I took his newly purchased heck of a deal of a canoe out to Toad Lake (oh excuse me. The real estate people have renamed it "Emerald Lake." I guess no one wants to buy a house on "Toad Lake") for the opening day of fishing season. WE HAD THE BEST DAY! It was SO gorgeous out there. Peaceful and wonderful and natural. And ten minutes from home.

Canoes are great. They are so easy to manouver. It's pretty effortless to paddle one about, as long as you're not in a blazing hurry to get anywhere, or as long as you're not going in for a long distance haul. In fact, most of the time I didn't even help with the paddling, cause I didn't need to.

And they're quiet. Especially Andy's, which is plastic. No motor-noise. No whang whang whang of the water lapping at the sides that you get with an aluminum boat.

We caught 13 rainbow trout, (12 to 14" each) between us. We let all but three go free ( I use a lure with a single barbless hook so I don't injure the fishies). (one I let go also had a big glob of Power-Bait in his mouth - pig!) We ate the ones we kept - yum. Fresh!

We weren't the only ones fishing. There was an Osprey circling overhead, and we watch a Bald Eagle swoop down right next to us and grab a trout out of the water and take it to a nearby tree. (what does it do with it when it gets there? They're pretty wriggly!)

All in all, just a great day.

But, we MUST get seat cushions for the canoe before the next trip!

Things I Learned on the Toilet

Boy, I haven't posted in nearly a week! Sorry out there, Bloglanders!

The only thing the creditors cannot seize if you go bankrupt is your WEDDING RING! Nobody got the answer. And me, I'm screwed. I don't have a wedding ring. They can take me for all I'm worth (ie which is about negative $25,000. Ha ha, suckers!)

Today's question:

What is the only rock humans are capable of digesting?
