What's Beautiful about a Squished Frog?
This weekend while camping up on the creek, we took a walk up the same road that Andy and I took a walk up last time we were up there. And it reminded me of something I saw on that walk, sometime last year.
It was a squished frog. It must have been flattened by a car going by. Or maybe it died before it was flattened by the car. Doesn't matter. What was interesting to me about the frog was that it was covered in flies, all crawling around on it and feasting down.
I said to Andy "That's beautiful!" He followed the path of my gaze to the road and the squished frog. "Huh?" he asked, looking at me like I was one of Bet's looney friends, "What's beautiful about a squished frog!?"
I said, "Well I just love that those flies are eating that frog."
"Why?" he asked.
I answered "Because frogs eat flies."

It Shipped Today
Yay, my new guitar - she comes soon! At this time I'd like to thank Andy-Man, who never reads my blog, for loaning me his extremely weird (but with very nice action) Takamine Z-shaped electric guitar to use until I finally got an electric of my own. Thanks honey! If I didn't feel so ridiculous holding the thing, I'd probably have played it more. But really, the guitar was way more bad-ass looking than I could ever live up to. We both know that.
Hmmm. My favorite steel string guitar is named Guinevere. What should I name the new electric one?

Bite Me, to the Evil Three
I just bought a new guitar! I'm SOOOOOO excited, I can't wait for it to come, should be MAYBE even by Friday!
It's an Epiphone Les Paul Standard - and I got a super good deal on it!
Here is a pixture:
I also got the WORLD'S BEST guitar stand to go with it, the "Catch-O-Matic." I mean, really, not only is it impossible to tip over or knock your guitar out of, it also TOTALLY goes with the name of my blog! If that's not meant to be, what is? (I also got a gig bag and microphone popper-stopper, but those are boring.)
So after a totally WRENCHING experience which involved having my gear stolen by my ex-bandmates a couple of years ago, I'm finally going to be all kitted out again. It's about time, I need to work on my "licks!"
Speaking of "licks," boy, Ice Cream sounds really good right now.....
