Boy, I Sure Got Mine!!

Yay! I am so happy! I got my Secret Blogger Day present in the mail all the way from Virginia - thanks Bet!!! And did I get the goods! I got:

1) Assorted necklaces in little plastic bubbles that you buy in vending machines, most wonderfully a little Japanese symbol which means "Brat!"
2) 2 little Puzzle balls - which I can play with at work
3) Several beaded necklace/bracelettes
4) Puppy paw-print and tropical fish stickers - rad!
5) A cocktail lounge night-light - reminds me of Vegas. Also reminds me I need a drink.
6) A stamp with a little crown on it and green ink pad - this is perfect, since I loves stamps, AND because one of my employees has taken to calling me "Her Highness" and "Queen M" (since I always tell her what to do). I often write her little notes that say things like "Viv, please make folder and file" signed Queen M. Now I can use the stamper! She's going to love it!
7) A copy of The hilarious Stephen Fry's book "The Hippopotamus" which I can wait to read. I read another book of his and really enjoyed it.
8) A copy of the original The In-Laws, which I saw once when I was a kid, but still remember as being silly and funny. This is also funny cause I was just bitching the other day about how Hollywood keeps remaking the same movies, this movie and Freaky Friday being the examples I used.
9) A RAD little book called "Don't: A Manual of Mistakes and Improprieties more or less prevalent in Conduct and Speech" which was originally published in 1880! Back then it cost "one shilling" and you'll be relieved to know it is "Unmutilated and with the Additional Matter." Here is a sample:

(At Table)

"Don't talk with your mouth full - never, in fact, have your mouth full. It is more healthful and in better taste to eat by small morsels."

Now, I KNOW we could all use a little polishing, so I'm planning on posting a little "Monday Manners" lesson on a weekly basis, that is unless I forget or don't have time to blog.

Anyway! Thanks Bet, I love my pressies! You rock!

Sorry State of Affairs

Well, it's looking pretty crappy out there in Blogland. Everyone's grumpy or on vacation, hopefully not both.

Myself, I've been having a "shooty" week due to boy troubles. And I'd like to say this for the record:

IT'S NOT MY FAULT!!!

It's really not. I don't have committment issues. I wasn't PRESSING any committment issues, either. But apparently turning 30 means it's time to decide to grow up and settle down, or time to shuffle off this pre-marital coil and play "let's pretend we're 22 again" for the next 20 years. I didn't really see what was wrong with things the way they were. What's the point of making a conscious effort not to pressure your very-loved-one into any kind of corner if shoves himself there on his own? I've wasted five good years of pressuring! Think of the pressuring I could have gotten done in that time!

I'm kinda pissy. See, this is why no one's blogging today. We all have the blog-wide grumps.
