Baby Got Back

That's right. I'm back from Vactionland and Sunshine City. I had a great trip, and as I kept commenting while I was down there: everything worked out perfectly! Flipsycab did a day-to-day type journal of my visit in her blog, but here's my little summary. Very little, I know, but I AM back to crappy ol' work now and I DO have a crappy BIG pile of crappy ol' work to do. Crap.

I spent a couple of afternoons sunning my glaringly-white bod on the the super soft sandy beaches of Long and Venice. Man, they really know what they're talking about when they go on about the lovely feeling of the sand between your toes. It really did feel nice, as I was lounging on my towel, writing in my journal or reading my book (which I highly recommend to all of you!) to dig my toesies in the pretty white sand.

I spent some very quality time with some great friends. You all know Flipsycab and Stennie, and also my friend Hosanna, who I hadn't seen in 6 years. It was, as Flipsy would say, RAD! We managed to drink a lot, eat a lot, talk a lot, laugh a lot, and even take a few pictures.

The train ride was long, but very beautiful. I'd love to do it again if I could afford to get a sleeper car.

And I'm glad to be home, but I really wish I didn't have to come home so soon! Thanks, ladies, for your hospitality and love and friendship! Your turn to come visit ME now!

Monday Manners

From the chapter "At Table":

Don't sit a foot off from the table, or sit jammed up against it.

Duh. I would think simple comfort would dictate that.
