I Know How You Love
to hear me tell about my weird dreams. So tune this out if you wish, but here goes.
Last night I dreamed that I was leaving work, and I was sitting in my car warming it up, when I noticed something odd about the guys in the shop. These are the guys that work on our big huge equipment like excavators or dumptrucks etc. They're usually out in the "yard" or in the "shop". While it is very rare that they work later than I do, this is not what I noticed. What caught my eye was that they were all naked. All dirty and greasy and butt-assed naked, just going about their business, fixing equipment and driving forklifts around. Pretty gruesome. Not sexual in the least!
What is wrong with me? Why can't I have a dream about HOT naked men?

I Found Snakes!
Yeager's, you're the best. I pity all you non-bellyhamsters who don't get to shop there. It's my favorite store.
Sue's trying to get me to go to Portland with her for a Halloween party on Saturday. I don't know. That's a long drive and I'm lame...

Damn!
There is a gal at work whose college-age son, Josh, works here in the summertime. And he's got the hots for me. It's a running joke around here, since he is WAY too young for me.
BUT!
He was hanging out at his good buddy Luke's house this weekend, playing pool. I guess Luke just bought a new house, because Luke is actually Luke Ridnour, #14th pick in the NBA draft, drafted by the Seattle Supersonics! Josh was hanging out at Luke Ridnour's house!
AND!!!!!
It gets better. OR WORSE!!
Who was also over there hanging out? BRENT BARRY! AHEM I've been dying to meet Brent Barry. Apparently, according to Josh, Brent's really cool! AND he likes sushi!
I'M SO STUPID!!!! If only I'd have gone out with Josh I could've been there, hanging with Brent Barry, shooting pool at Luke Ridnour's house. DAMN! What a fool I am!

How Come
I'm allowed, according to the imood updater to feel "scared" but not "scary" and "frightened" but not "frightening"?
I'll have you know, I DON'T actually feel "spooky." I ACTUALLY feel "scary!"

Speaking of Scary, Again
Oh. One other thing I forgot to mention. When Sue and I were at the Texas Chainsaw Massacre there was a man there who had brought his 3 or 4 year old daughter in to the movie with him!
WTF!!!!!!!??
Oh, man I was pissed off! I said something loudly and snarky like, "What the HELL is that guy bringing that little girl in here for?" Yes. I was that pissed off, I ended my sentence in a preposition.
I just can't even grasp how totally STUPID you'd have to be to think that was an ok idea. That's child abuse! I mean, that movie was WAY too scary for ME! And I'm an old lady!
Now, granted, she never cried or screamed, or at least if she did I couldn't hear it over my own crying and screaming. I think I looked way more freaked out when we were walking out of the picture than she did.
BUT that's not the point! I just can't imagine how you could possibly think that was ok.

Rats!
Or rather "Snakes!"
I can't find any snakes! How am I supposed to have a head wreathed in snakes if I can't find any snakes?
I tried making one last night out of felt, and....it's cute. Which is great, if I'm five years old. But I'm actuallly thirty years old, and I want to be SCARY and cute snakes are not going to cut it!
I did have luck getting fabric for the toga. I should HOPE so, it's just a damn sheet. But the snakes are really getting me down. I should have been out there, snake-hunting weeks ago. Now I'm stressing out about my Halloween costume a few days beforehand, like I always do! I'm going to be stuck with homemade cute snakes, I just know it!

I've Got It!!!
I figured out what I'm going to be for Halloween.
MEDUSA!!!!
I just need to
- make a toga (easy)
- make a snake wreath for my head (kinda easy, toy snakes around a hoop)
- get some wings
- get some fake nails
I LOVE painting my face (and arms) all scary, so that will be no problem. I bought some green hair dye. I have fangs.
Should be great!
Course, I DON'T have anywhere to go. My friend Sue is dressing up like "Carrie" from the Steven King movie. I guess we'll just sit around the house all scary looking and drink beer....
Speaking of scary, she and I went to "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" this weekend. OH MY GOD it was disgusting. I screamed out loud at least 3 times. I kept saying "Just get the fuck out of Texas and you'll be safe!!" (after all, it's not called the New Mexico Chainsaw Massacre) but of course they didn't listen. And they didn't listen when I told them not to pick up that hitchhiker, and they didn't listen when I said not to stop in the creepy town, and they didn't listen when I told them to STAY OUT of the old mill, and they certainly didn't listen when I said "Don't go into the basement!!!"
They never do. And we got to see the price they paid. Gross.
See, this is why I don't go to Texas. Or into basements.
Boo!

Monday Manners
From the chapter "At Table"
Don't be embarrassed. Endeavor to be self-possessed and at ease; to accomplish which, try and not be self-conscious.
Yah right. How can you follow all of these rules and then "just be relaxed?"

Dumbass
I lost my cool sunglasses this weekend. I guess I know where I'm going on my lunch break - back to the store. I hope they have more of the same style!
I also put red streaks in my hair this weekend. They look pretty good, though not as dramatic as I'd hoped. But it was fun!
And I'm hurty! I decided I better hit the pool this weekend, and get an idea of just how damn far 1/2 mile of swimming is really going to be. It's 22 laps at my local YMCA pool. Well, I did the whole thing, taking a short rest every 4 laps (yes Bet, I swim in groups of 4), alternating laps of crawl and breast stroke. And it wasn't that bad! Course my shoulders are sore today, but I'm sure that will get better as I go.
Then, really foolishly, I figured, "Well I paid for day pass to the Y (since I haven't renewed my membership yet) so I may as well go use the gym and see how I do combining the swimming and biking. Maybe I'll even run a little bit too, and do a mini triath, just to see how it goes." Course, I ended up biking for 12 miles and running/walking for 3.1, cause once I got going I wanted to see if I could do it. And I can! The whole thing took me about 2 hours, but I was by NO MEANS pushing myself with respect to speed or difficulty level. I rested in the swimming, I biked at the very easiest level, and I walked for the half of the running. BUT still I did it!
THEN I went home and put my pajamas on, even though it was only 4:30 in the afternoon! I was DONE for the DAY and I mean all I did was lounge in bed and eat and watch tv for the rest of the night. And I'm sore today. But not SUPER DUPER sore. Actually, just my arms from swimming, and my shins from not stretching out beforehand. Dumbass! I bet if I stretch out like I'm supposed to, I'll be fine.
Yah, but you can BET your ASS I ain't going jogging tonight!
