Weekend Wonderful

It's gorgeous outside right now. It's sunny and warm and the flowers are in full swing. There were two eagles nested in the tree outside my window at work (you know, the one that has the nice view of the dumpster), until a hawk came along and they got in an aerial battle. Pretty cool. No, Mr. Boss-man, I'm not goofing off!

Course I'm stuck inside in the air conditioning. Yep, it's that time of year again. Time for me to start bitching about the air conditioning. If it weren't for the AC, I could actually wear a short-sleeved t-shirt to work in the spring/summer. Heaven forfend. No, we can't have that. Better I should wear my coat inside all summer and then strip it off the minute I go outside. Something just plain wrong about that!

So I'm fondly thinking back to the lovely weekend I just had. It was nice out all weekend and I got to enjoy it. Saturday I went for a 10 mile bike-ride which was very hilly, starting at Lake Padden, biking toward the Lake Sammy Texaco, and then taking Old Lake Sammy hwy back to the roller-coaster road in Fairhaven, and then the zig-zag roads up the hill back to Lake Padden. Man, what a killer! It took me about 55 minutes, but this time I didn't have to stop and rest on the zig-zag hill. THEN I ran/walked around Lake Padden, which is 2.6 miles. I didn't run as much as I would have prefered, but hell. My legs were jello after that ride! I still felt pretty damn good about myself!

Yesterday I did some spring cleaning at my house, which was pretty badly needed, and felt good. THEN I went to Old Navy and bought a pair of jeans and a couple brightly colored t-shirts, and 2 tank tops for running. THEN I went to the nursery and bought flowers for my window-boxes! I took them to Andy's and planted them in the sun on his driveway. They look so sweet! Andy is repainting the interior of his place, so we were both having fun doing Sunday stuff. The work you do for free on Sunday is so much more satisfying than the work you do for money during the week! We even FINISHED the Sunday crossword puzzle. Score! I got my laundry done and even read a couple chapters in my Microbiology text. Yep, I'm a nerd. The class doesn't start til Tuesday, and I've already read 2 chapters. Well, hell, I've heard this class is hard. I want to get a jump on it!

Oooof. But the Mondays have set in. Man, is it Friday yet?

Monday Manners

From the chapter "In the Drawing Room"

Don't stare at the furniture, at pictures, or at other objects, and, of course, don't stare at people present.

Yes, pictures and other objects are NOT for looking at. It would really be best if you ignored everyone and bumped into things when you walk. Of course, that's what your cane is for. Not that I'd notice such an item.
