Rabbit Rabbit

I've dressed up the blog for Halloween - it's going as a spooky dead blog that died of neglect. (Don't worry, the sickly color changes are just for the season, they're not my new favorite colors or anything). I've also gotten rid of the Weatherpixie, who always took forever to load, and who always was holding an umbrella anyway, and also the Imood thingy, since I can't remember the password and thus am always "happy". I mean, I'm pretty happy most of the time, all things considered, but really you must be sick of hearing about it. And when I'm feeling pissy or sad or jumpy, I don't like lying to you all. So that had to go. It's like a whole new blog around here!

Happy Haaaaaaaalloweeeeeeen!

Well, this truly is my favorite time of year. So much is great about late October, early November. I'll ignore that it's pouring down rain right now - at least I don't have to water my pansies. I'm also willing to ignore that it gets dark so early now, partly because I got to "fall back" this weekend, which I love. (I can always remember - you "fall back into bed - yay more sleep!" and you "spring forward out of bed - oh shit I'm late!") I'm not so hot on "spring forward," except that after spring forward it's light enough late enough for me to exercise outside, and not be stuck in the gym. But back to fall. I love the colors in the leaves, I love pumpkin pie, I love the salmon running (smoked salmon for everyone!), I love knitting again, I love fireplaces roaring, but more than any of that, I LOVE HALLOWEEN!!

Andy and I did it up once again this year, despite the fact that we both had very little time to do any costume planning. Andy had been told that he was forbidden from wearing his catcus costume again this year, so naturally he wore it. But it dressed it up with a witch hat and cloak and beard. (he went as the catcus dressed up as a wizard for halloween). When people said "Hey! You're a cactus!" He'd say, "No I'm not. I'm a wizard."

I raided the shop at my work and went as an "Inattentive Flagger." In other words, dead makeup, blacked out front teeth, smashed in hard-hat, stop/slow sign, and a reflective vest with tire tracks over the chest. My make-up was rad. 5 years of college and $30,000 later, at least I can do good halloween makeup.

We took the show on the road and went to a fun party where everyone was dressed up. We had a great time, and left shortly after two guests got in a fight and broke a window. Let's go before the cops come, I suggested to the cactus wizard.

Here's photographic proof. The pictures I was in didn't turn out very well - the reflective tape did something to the camera lens - but you get the idea. I had to edit out most of the guy flipping off the camera. Not that he was being rude, mind you. He was dressed up as Sid Vicious.

AND my OTHER favorite thing about this time of year...of course of course of course...is that it is the start of BASKETBALL SEASON!!! Yayyyyyy! Although this year I'm bummed because I have to miss watching the opening game because I have a stinking chemistry lab to go to! I'm seriously considering skipping class, missing out on the points, and risking an A-. Seriously, it's that big of a deal. Even if you don't give a damn, please, for me, just once, join me in saying:

Go Sonics!!!!
