Three Day Get-Away to the Bay
I just got back from a three day weekend in the Bay Area, and WE HAD SO MUCH FUN!! There were dual purposes for the trip. First, my Grandma turned NINETY this weekend, so we went down to clink glasses and celebrate with her. She is still bright and healthy and more active than I am! Here's a picture with her and my dad (that's my only Aunt in the background with her eyes closed):

We spent most of the trip, however, goofing around and laughing and generally having a ball of fun with our good friends Joe and Heather. They both grew up here in the Belly, but now they live in San Rafael. We drove up the mountain overlooking the Golden Gate and saw the fantastic view. We tried to get pictures of us "leaning" on the Golden Gate Bridge, but it was too bright out to really see the viewscreen of my camera phone, so instead we just look like goobers:

After a tour of the City and a drive down the curvy-est street in the world (Lombard Street) we ended up goofing around on Haight Street. We went to the Fluevog store and we looked at t-shirts and played pinball and drank beer and saw two street people get in a fight and saw a man doing tai chi on the corner and were offered drugs on the street and tried on hats in the hat store!

Course...once you go into one hat store, you have to go into every hat store you come across. This one was down on the Wharf (not Worf - he's the Klingon from Star Trek TNG):

Suffice to say, we had a great time. We ate like kings, hung out with some awesome people, and just had a ball!

Fully Padded Ego
I'm three out of three. I just got the letter from Clark College, accepting me into their Dental Hygiene program! Of course, I've already decided to go to Shoreline, but it is SO nice to be wanted!

Clearly, not a Computer Geek
Well, I tried to do a post showing my results from the Nerd, Geek, or Dork test that I found on Stennie's blog. Only I'm not enough of a computer Geek to get it to work out right on my blog. So forget it. Suffice to say, I'm a Total Nerd. This I already knew!
From the results:
"A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia. A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one. A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions. You scored better than half in Nerd, earning you the title of: Pure Nerd.
The times, they are a-changing. It used to be that being exceptionally smart led to being unpopular, which would ultimately lead to picking up all of the traits and tendences associated with the "dork." No-longer. Being smart isn't as socially crippling as it once was, and even more so as you get older: eventually being a Pure Nerd will likely be replaced with the following label: Purely Successful.
Congratulations!"
Go here and take the test. IF YOU DARE!
